a) NMAJS Curriculum Pathways
● Nursery, LKG and UKG – follow the IB PYP Early Years Framework*
and Classes I to V - follow the IB PYP Framework*
Within the PYP framework, we integrate the core subjects of
English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies along with
Music, Art, Physical education, Dance and Drama to create the
holistic foundation of our programme. Digital learning is woven
throughout our programme and across disciplines. Through a
transdisciplinary approach, the acquisition of knowledge,
development of conceptual understanding and mastery of skills,
our learners build a strong basis within and across disciplines. The 6
IB PYP transdisciplinary themes allow for the NMAJS curriculum
to contextualise learning in meaningful ways.
In Nursery and LKG the children explore 4 units, in UKG they explore
5 of the 6, and from Class I, all 6 transdisciplinary themes are covered.
● Classes VI to VIII - follow the IB MYP 1-3 Framework*
The Middle Years Programme (MYP) at NMAJS comprises MYP
1 to 3, i.e. equivalent to Classes VI to VIII (MYP).
MYP is an interdisciplinary programme driven by a conceptual and
contextual focused curriculum, building on the concepts and skills
learnt in the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
The MYP provides a structure of learning, encouraging students to
continue as creative, critical and reflective thinkers. By learning
languages and about their culture, students begin to develop the
foundation of international mindedness which is an integral part of
MYP. The emphasis on multilingualism allows for openminded
thinking and effective communication. The Programme is
intellectually challenging and encourages students to make
connections between the subjects and the real world. It fosters the
development of intercultural understanding and global
citizenship, which are essential for life in the 21st century.
