Primary
In the Primary School (PYP Classes I to V), report cards are issued in two
formats, Unit Reports and Term Reports. Students and parents receive
Unit Reports at the end of each unit, and a Term Report at the end of
each term.
Using a 7 to 1 scale with descriptors, the reports provide information on
the students’:
● conceptual understanding
● acquisition of knowledge, and
● mastery of skills.
Middle Years
In the MYP (Classes VI to VIII) students are awarded grades of 7 - 1.
Students receive a progress report at the end of each term which
consists of a final grade, effort grade, ATL progression and subject
comments. Students also reflect on their performance.
Effort grades are assigned subject-wise at the end of the term based
on the level of consistency of performance by a student. These include
IB affective skills (perseverance, persistence, resilience, and self-
motivation), organizational skills (preparedness, time management,
punctuality) and collaboration skills (teamwork, contributions).
Through Approaches to Learning skills, students develop general and
disciplinary-specific skills that have relevance across the curriculum
and that help them learn how to learn. These skills, applicable to all
three IB programmes, set the foundations for lifelong learning.
Subject teachers and students report on specific skills that were
explicitly developed and practised in the term.
