Empowering Young Minds
Students of the Middle School at NMAJS dived deep into the theme of Perseverance , as enthusiastic parents stepped up with creative activities and brilliant stories to recreate the magic of storytelling. The story of Helen Keller could not have had a more powerful impact when students blindfolded themselves to perceive the world around them without the luxury of sight. The Satellite tunnel library provided a befitting setting for the story Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
The tale of Black Beauty enthralled the young learners of Grade 6B. The biography of Abdul Kalam ‘Wings Of Fire’ drove home a strong message that humble beginnings may lead to great heights. An extract from JK Rowling's speech on perseverance was emphasised with an activity to build on marshmellows using toothpicks.
The objective was to keep trying until one builds the tallest structure. It showed the importance of failure to reach the desired results. This experience will go a long way in fostering a love for books and reading in our young students.
