Our Strategic Plan
Foreword
The Strategic Plan 2023-2028 of Dhirubhai Ambani International School has its genesis from the five strategic directions of the Strategic Plan for 2016-2021 and takes cognisance of the new curriculum model and pedagogical practices that are in the initial phase of implementation. It factors the unique features of the new world-class campus - Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School - that is under development. The Plan also has contextual reference to the CIS-NEASC re-accreditation process that is underway.
While the Strategic Plan 2016-2021 had Student Well-being, Teaching and Learning, People Potential, Technology Integration, and Community Connections as its five strategic directions, it has been decided that the Strategic Plan 2023-2028 will have Culture, Teaching and Learning, Well-Being, Environment, and Partnerships as its five strategic directions.
Development of the Strategic Plan has been anchored by five Strategic Plan Committees, with each committee focusing on one strategic direction. All the Committees presented their draft plans to the School Management Team (SMT) and incorporated the inputs received. Further, the Chairs and Co-chairs of the Committees deliberated on the Plan together to ensure coherence and connect between all the strategic directions.
5 Strategic Directions
The school’s strategic plan for 2023-2028, outlines our vision for excellence across five key areas: Culture, Teaching & Learning, Well-being, Environment, and Partnership.
The Strategic Direction 'Culture' is positioned as a school-wide strategy of assessing every staff member's competencies and how they are supported to build on them through inclusive policies and robust processes. Every effort has been made to ensure that it seeks to meet the evolving needs of our learners, within the overall framework of the school's guiding statements.
The Strategic Direction 'Teaching and Learning' reflects our new curriculum pathways to equip children with 21st century skills, with learning through inquiry, conceptual understanding, differentiated instruction, and technology integration as the pillars of our pedagogy. These align with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The new curriculum model also leverages the school's foundational principles and best practices over the last two decades.
The Strategic Direction 'Well-being' takes an all-encompassing view of the welfare and satisfaction of all teachers and staff, as against the earlier definition of limiting it to student well-being. It has been felt that such a comprehensive approach is essential to achieve the well-being of students
The Strategic Direction 'Environment' presupposes that the physical space, technology infrastructure, human resources, financial resources, and all other requisite resources have to work in tandem to achieve the Strategic Plan. Since the school has made significant headway on integrating technology, the same is no longer a strategic direction.
With clearly articulated objectives, strategies, measures of success, resources needed, lists of people responsible, timelines, and evaluation plan, the Strategic Plan 2023-2028 envisions DAIS achieving its objectives in a culture of excellence and in pursuit of school improvement that is on a continuum.
